Site notes: Santo Amaro, week 31
The first lift of the new block is poured inside the old sheds, and the brick wall gets its 50 mm gap.
The first lift of the insertion went in on Tuesday: 38 m³ in four hours, with the sheds' roof lights giving us better light than any site lamp.
We tested the 50 mm separation between the new concrete and the 1901 brick wall with a strip of cork. It stays in as the movement joint.
Next week: the stair core, and a long conversation about whether the old tram rails should stay visible in the floor. (They should.)
